Some minerals found in the dead sea are various forms of choloride ( salts) as well as:

Note there is Bitumen in there? could this be left over from the
'blast'? It is highly flammable. It can be from a natural source or
man made. In this case it would have to occur naturally.
But it apparently is not just indiginous to the Dead Sea area.

So if the solid form is asphalt, then the viscous variety would be
what in the bible is described as pitch? This is what Noah used for the
ark. Used to waterproof it, just as it is used today.
